Overview
The field trip will focus on Quaternary landforms, deposits, and soils in and
near the Ohio River valley in Henderson and Daviess Counties, Kentucky. We will
discuss landscape evolution, depositional patterns, economic geology, land-use
implications, geotechnical and engineering considerations, as well as seismic
and flood hazards in the field trip area. Travel will be in luxury motor coaches.
Please bring comfortable shoes and a HARD HAT if you have one; a
limited number of extra hard hats will be available.

There will be a pre-trip Soil Characterization Workshop with USDA and KGS personnel on Thursday, October 5, at the KGS Henderson Office from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Workshop registration is $20 (must pre-register), and includes lunch and materials.
